Man Cat is based on a simple question - What if John Travolta was a man cat with a penchant for fish?
Dressed in a neat pinstripe suit and clutching two freshly caught fish. He’s got a strange look on his abstract face. Maybe it’s the stink of those fish he’s just found in the bin. Whether he’s proud of his catch or simply protecting it from hungry competitors is open to interpretation.
This handmade linocut print combines bold carved lines with strong graphic shapes to create a striking character portrait. The limited colour palette and expressive line work give the piece a playful but slightly mysterious presence.

As with all handmade linocut prints, subtle variations in ink depth, alignment and natural ‘chatter’ marks may occur. Although I try to keep these to a minimum, these are part of the character of the printmaking process.
