Lockdown is a handmade linocut print with a loosely patterned, abstract style. I made it in response to the pandemic lockdown we all experienced, trying to capture something of that strange, in-between feeling through layered textures and simple shapes. I pull each print by hand and build up the three colours slowly, so the surface develops its own quiet rhythm as you look at it. This one is a small, intentional edition — I kept it to just 12 prints overall.

As with all handmade linocut prints, subtle variations in ink depth, alignment and natural ‘chatter’ marks may occur. Although I try to keep these to a minimum, these are part of the character of the printmaking process.
